SHAMEFUL BARCA

During the recent clash between Barca and Real Madrid in the Champions League we were subjected to a showcase of diving and whinging which has no part in the game at the top level.

In what was a much anticipated clash of two Spanish giants, we seen the magic of Lionel Messi overshadowed by cunning attempts to sway the referee. The culprits on this occasion were Pedro and Sergio Busquets who managed to con the German official Wolfgang Stark with their exaggerated falls and face clutching.

Although the theatrics were not very impressive it must be said that Barca were playing great football and ran out deserved winners on a scoreline of 2-0. Their flowing moves and passing were too much for a Madrid side missing the presence of Ricardo Carvalho at the back to lead the defence.

We can just hope to see this stamped out of football. Surely everyone would agree that a yellow card here and there are well deserved for such cheaters? All we can hope for is that the best team comes through victorious in the next leg and goes on to the final in Wembley as deserved winners.
